# of Years Riding: 15 years What made you want to ride your own motorcycle? I was in a gas station filling up my "cage" on my way home from a particularly grueling Calculus III exam when a group of 4 or 5 riders clad in leather jackets and black boots pulled in. When they removed their helmets, I noticed 2 things. 1 st, they were all women, and 2nd they all had smiles on their faces! That was when I realized I was missing out on something... found out I was right. I love, love LOVE riding- especially with cool women! |

Currently Ride: Classic '86 1000cc Kawasaki Concours & a 07 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 (but I'm working on that!) First Bike: 77 Suzuki RM125 Dirt Bike Dream Bike if I won the lotto: A garage full of assorted bikes, including a shiny chrome American Cruiser (like a HD Heritage Softail) painted like a WWII bomber, (including the pin-up girl on the tank and bomb silhoettes on the rear fender) an ultra-high performance European sport-touring bike, (like the BMW R1100 RT), a zippy Japanese dirt bike (like a Yamaha YZ250). And of course, a very spunky crotch rocket, for going out to dinner and stuff! While you're at it, I'll take a full-time mechanic, a nice trailer, and a decent tire/ maintenance budget. :o) |

Best Road Trip to Date: Last summers road trip from Cocoa Beach to Madison, WI for 2007 WITW Summer Nationals, especially when we veered off our route to pass through French Lick, IN (just because we saw the sign and liked the name!) Favorite Roads to Ride on 2 wheels: The P.C.H. (Pacific Coast Highway) especially North of San Francisco, and all those back roads that I don't know where they lead until I "try" them. I have stumbled onto so many cool places that way- I've also gotten lost a lot! Dream Road Trip for me to Road Captain: I would love to take a bike and a tent around the Northern Coast of Australia ( no agenda, just stopping whenever I liked the sunset) |

Any exciting road trip stories? I was riding 75-80 MPH along I-75 in Atlanta when all of a sudden, my bike just died! I had to immediately cross 5 lanes of traffic to get to the shoulder because I was losing speed rapidly. My riding partner was oblivious to my predicament, as were all the cars and trucks zooming by me) Just as I got to the edge of the highway, (and was able to recover my heart out of my stomach) I noticed that I accidentally bumped my thumb against my kill switch. Still coasting, I cranked it back up immediately. I accelerated back onto the road to join my riding partner in the left hand most lane. The scariest part of the whole ordeal is that she never knew I had left her side! |

Weirdest Job I have ever held: It is officially a tie. 1) I used to feed the dolphins /seals/ stingrays/ fish at the Miami Seaquarium ( absolutely LOVED working with animals!) 2)Was the first mate on a sailboat that ran male gay cruises out of Ft. Lauderdale (loved it too, got lots of tasty cocktail recipes) |

Most shocking thing about me: It would take more than a shot or two to get that out of me!!! OK, If you need something... the night before I had to stand before a General to receive the USAF Air Medal for combat flying stuff during Desert Storm, I had my first gig with my new punk band, "Fresh Catch". My head was shaved on one side, and dyed blue with blonde streaks. I arrived at the award ceremony with only minutes to spare because I spent all night trying to "remilitarize" my hair- the best I could come up with was an extremely creative shade of eggplant. I definately got some dirty looks, but they also had to give me the medal! |

What I like BEST about the WITW Dangerous Curves Chapter: The amount of pride I feel to be part of such an amazing group of diverse interesting women. I feel tremendous love, respect, & togetherness with my DC sisters who control their bikes through miles of high winds, heavy rains and rough roads, yet come out even stronger and more independent as a result. The DC Chapter truly understands the importance of riding in the "Drama Free Zone" where all that remains in the wind is the freedom, the rush, and the thrill of being there with each other. Of course, the look you get when people realize you are a group of women riders always puts a smirk on my face! I just can't help myself, it feels delightfully delicious! |
